About Us

The Friends of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park (FOMECP) is a registered charity (no. 295261) consisting of like-minded people who love the Park and wish to see it preserved and improved for the enjoyment of all. The charity was created in 1985 to support the maintenance of the 865 acre country park

The charity works to raise funds to purchase items that will benefit the general public, and which the Park's management cannot afford to buy. To this end the Friends work in conjunction with Park management to encourage the Park's use and development. A key activity of the Friends is to raise funds for special projects and over the years the Friends have donated well over £300,000 to support and maintain the House and Park.

We run regular fund raising events which are open to non-members as well as members, and we also attend other events where we are invited to showcase the Friends.

We can also be found at Lambert Lodge - just through the archway on the way to the Orangery. Come in and see us if you are passing, and perhaps treat yourself to a second hand book!
